I’ve seen these type of coasters on several websites and I even saw them at Borders over Christmas they’re a neat idea. Especially if you have old records that are dirty and scratched enough so that listening to it isn’t worth it!
“”White audiences are not the only ones that turn away from progressive images. Often, unenlightened black and other nonwhite groups who, like many whites, have been socially conditioned to accept the denigrating portraits of black people are dissatisfied when they do not see these familiar stereotypes on screen. White supremacy hegemony works because everyone is in on the act.””—bell hooks (via daughterofzami)
“Facebook is very confused. They seem to think breasts are only about sex, but breasts have more than one function. Adults know that lips and hands are used for sex, but if they are being used for eating, smiling or waving we all understand that it is fine for children to see them and for pictures containing hands and lips to be on Facebook. So please can we apply the same rule to breasts and to nipples – yes, even to nipples.”—Belinda Phipps (Sorry, Facebook – on breastfeeding you seem rather confused | Comment is free | guardian.co.uk)
